LuCE Board 2018

Between the 20th and the 22nd April, LuCE organized the annual AGM in Sofia. The event being positioned in Sofia supported the Board’s decision to atract members from allover Eastern Europe. All full members, associate members and supporters of LuCE were invited to this event, which included a  capacity building training and a scientific session delivered within one day.

22 full and associated members from 15 countries attended the event opened by Stefania Vallone, President of LuCE welcoming the 3 new members from Eastern Europe – Udruga oboljelih od raka pluča – Croatia, Dzivibas Koks – Latvia and Community Health Association – Romania.

The training subjects were focused on how to manage political and social influence in advocacy in order to benefit from clinical trials; the scientific session provided the news on lung cancer treatments.

The General Assembly brought a new member of the LuCE Board, Anne-Marie Baird (left), holding a PhD in Cancer Research from the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Dublin, Trinity College. *Anne-Marie is involved in lung cancer awareness and patient advocacy, and is an active member of the lung cancer social media (#LCSM) community.
